Dour Festival, as always, is an ideal showcase festival for several Belgian artists. First shot or confirmed bands, they will be 50 to present their project for this anniversary edition. WBM will be there!

The friends of Zwangere Guy and l’Or du Commun, original from Laeken, Brussels, form Le 77. The Belgian flatmates, part of the golden hip-hop generation, Peet, Félé Flingue, Morgan and Rayan made a chilly and jazzy compilation C’est le 77 and they did it again this year with Bawlers that they will have the pleasure to present us on stage.

Sasha Vovk and Julie Rens are the two members of Juicy. Originally, their only goal was to give R’n’B and hip-hop classics a face-lift. The idea for GANGUE is simple, to put together a project with 3 artists each representing the territory of one of the festivals. Giving an exclusive show only on these 3 events, it unites the producers of La Fine Equipe, Haring and Fulgeance. These six behind their machines will make things shake!

The revelation of the French scene of 2017, Angèle, isn’t just Romeo Elvis’ little sister. She is gaining a lot of visibility and is making a lot of people talk about her. She already supported Damso and Ibeyi and her two successes « La Loi de Murphy » and « Je veux vos yeux » are running in loop. She is presenting us her first new album, truly pack with catchy and throbbing pop. Come and enjoy this new phenomenon!

LA SMALA

This group of young Brussels rappers from different collectives such as l’Exutoire or Nouvelle Génération, has been in the game since 2007 and their productions « On est la – Volume 1 » (2009) and Volume 2 (2010) have made their success. They offer a conscious rap with sharp and honest texts, brutal but lucid. La Smala returns this year to Dour with a new album 11h59 fresh out of the furnace. Join the family!

WYATT E

Strongly inspired by a musical universe close to the Middle East, the Liège group Wyatt E. offers long and multi-layered songs, both esoteric and psychedelic, magical lasagnes ready to be tasted on the album Exile to Beyn Neharot and discovered live in Dour. MUGWUMP

DJ, label owner and producer of disco with techno influences on, among other, R&S and Kompakt, Geoffroy Mugwump has managed to create music that mixes all genres: dub, disco, techno, electro, punk and indie. The entity merged with the same happiness you’ll find on his album Unspell as well as his newest work, Drape, where rock roots are even more present. Post-punk, psychedelica and even noise, he surrounded himself with nice beasts like Stéphane Fedele, Thomas Stadnicki (Boda Boda) and Lukas Melville (Boda Boda / Thot) who literally beat their instruments. A detonating and intense show!

SOLDOUT

After fifteen years of intense experiences and concerts all over the world, Soldout will give its very last concerts this year and will perform one last time at the festival of Dour. After this final tour, Charlotte and David will step back to think about new musical projects. De Belgian band BRNS (pronounced as “brains”) is in for their fourth show at Dour. The fixed value in the southern part of the country managed to conquer France, The Netherlands and the UK with all their different masterpieces. The album Suger High is their newest burst of mysterious melodies, dark but still irresistible catchy. This band is one of Belgian’s finest at the moment, can’t afford to miss out on them.

CABALLERO & JEANJASS

Their first masterpiece, Double Hélice, made a lot of noise (millions of views for each video) and allowed them to tour all over Belgium and France. Once again, our fellow Belgians, Caballero & JeanJass are joining forces for the second part of the album. They like to chant “non, non, non, c’est pas fini!”, and we can ensure you, it is certainly not over yet.

VEENCE HANAO x LE MOTEL

Already performing in 2007 and 2013 at the festival, Veence Hanao was stopped in its dazzling rise with the release of its powerful urban anthem Loweina Laurae, precursor of the new generation of Belgian hip-hop. After healing his ear problems, it is an immense joy to see again this talented songwriter. He excels because of his acid texts , that reveals the paradoxes of our current society, as much because of his charisma on stage. He is accompanied by the brilliant producer Le Motel, Romeo Elvis’ usual travelling companion. Welcome back Veence The Prince!

L’OR DU COMMUN

L’Or Du Commun is one of those bands with their roots in Brussels that are part of the emergence of the Belgian rap. Loxley, Primero and Swing, buddies of Roméo Elvis released their EP Zeppelin last year and haven’t stopped gaining notoriety since. We’ll see them for the third time at the festival this year!

Swing, the newest member of Belgian’s golden hip-hop generation, left the collective L’Or du Commun in order to launch his first solo project. Meanwhile, the rapper who usually supported Roméo Elvis released two singles named « Cercle » and « Corbeaux ». He arranged his tour around his masterpiece Marabout. You can expect an enchanting flow and magical punchlines screaming to be discovered by you.

Created in 2013 in Brussels, FùGù Mango comes from the love of dance music, african beats and indie pop. Based on intensive percussions, the energy is coloured with iced soul and sparring guitars. After a first EP Mango Chicks that blew them out in the open, they return this year with a new album Alien Love.

GIRLS IN HAWAII

For 15 years now, Dour and the Belgian band are writing their own love story. Girls In Hawaii didn’t stop growing since their first concert at the festival in 2002. Nowadays they are the torchbearer for French speaking Belgian pop rock. We are happy to announce their return for the 6th time. After the emotional album Everest from 2013, they are back with a fourth piece named Nocturne.

KOKOKO!

The Congolese of KOKOKO!, from Kinshasa, differs from the norm by playing with « homemade » instruments, altered to be “unplugged” because power cuts are common in the capital. So, their music is a mix of electro, pop and post-punk made with a typewriter instead of a drum machine, with a toaster that replaces the battery and with steel wire which are already basically guitar strings. Everyone will enjoy their insolent and colourful ingenuity.
